Thanks to your support in 2022, Paper Whale united a community of creatives for a six-part series examining the possibilities for a Waterfront that includes dynamic public art. Of the 30+ public submissions we received, Paper Whale selected seven concepts for the Port of Bellingham to consider for installation on the Waterfront.
On Wednesday, February 8, we invite you to a one-time gallery showcase and sneak peek of these public art proposals and a possibility of what a future Bellingham can look like. In addition to the gallery of ideas (and their creators), we'll be joined by the local artists who contributed to the collaborative whale mural, the screening of our first short-short film, and a live performance and installation by cellist Erin Esses and calligraphist Laura Norton.
Come see what we are proposing to build and leave inspired by what we will create together in 2023. This is the future of public art.
